Project Coordinator

Background: Project Implicit is a non-profit organization committed to the dissemination and application of social psychological research, particularly in the area of implicit social cognition. Using its web-based infrastructure, Project Implicit facilitates behavioral research and education about implicit bias. Project Implicit seeks a full-time project coordinator with strong communication and organizational skills to contribute to Project Implicit’s efforts in providing our research services to external researchers and other clients, improving the quality of the research conducted on our public website, and making our data publicly accessible.

Responsibilities: The key responsibilities for the project coordinator position include being a point of contact for external researchers working with Project Implicit, developing and testing web-based research study materials for research clients, maintaining large datasets in a public repository, and reviewing and maintaining documentation for those using the Project Implicit research infrastructure.

Skills: Extremely strong communication skills and professionalism; Ability to maintain a high work ethic and level of communication in a remote working environment; Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and respect for deadlines; Ability to adapt to rapidly changing demands; Background in scientific methodology (BA/BS level or higher); Ability to carry out basic data analysis using data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS); Effective writing skills. Programming/web development skills are preferred; willingness to learn web development is required.

Note: Project Implicit is a non-profit organization that does not have a central office location. The Project Implicit team works remotely and connects regularly via web-based meetings. Its mission is to (1) develop and deliver methods for investigating and applying phenomena of implicit social cognition, including especially phenomena of implicit bias based on age, race, gender or other factors, (2) advance the public’s awareness and understanding of implicit social cognition and implicit bias and (3) advance the scientific field of psychological research.
